DONCASTER COLLEGE
Following the construction of the multi million pound waterfront campus which opened in September 2006 and its university centre at High Melton, Doncaster College is now the largest provider of further education in South Yorkshire.
TENDERING
Following an intense tendering process Lloyd Catering Equipment were awarded the contract to provide the college with a facility in which up to 16 students would be able to work and develop their skills in an area which was to become known as the school feast demonstration kitchen. Included in this design there was also to be a demonstration kitchen which was to incorporate the latest audio-visual technology.
TIMESCALE AND DEADLINE
Due to the nature of the college the project was required to be carried out within a strict timescale and Lloyd Catering worked very closely with the colleges other preferred contractors to ensure the project was completed and handed over on time.
During the project, progress meetings were held on a regular basis with the college project and contract leader Stacy Bunn and the academy director Gill Parkes along with the director of estates Helen Lightburn. From commencement of works to handover was a six week period and the project was delivered on time & to budget.
ADDITIONAL WORKS
During the early stages of the project Lloyd Catering Equipment were asked to provide quotations for the laying of a new tiled floor, suspended ceiling and furniture for the demonstration kitchen, all quotations were accepted and the works carried out in the period of the project.
EQUIPMENT
The principle manufacture used by Llloyd Catering Equipment were Falcon Food Service equipment, Dawson Commenda Warewashing Equipment, Foster Refrigeration and Anchor Stainless Manufacturing with Falcon being directly involved in the sponsorship of a full height glazed viewing window which looks directly into the training kitchen.
