This December, Gilder Group head office, Gilder Volkswagen (Banner Cross, Sheffield) and Peter Gilder Audi have moved to a substantial, state-of-the art and purpose built new site.

This much anticipated development aims to provide better customer service, a wider selection of both new and used cars, and a comfortable and relaxed environment for customers to visit.
Central to this development is The Heritage Centre.
Situated, between Gilder Volkswagen & Gilder group Audi, The Heritage centre provides a historic view of Gilder Groups relationship with Volkswagen & Audi over the years.
Lloyd Catering Equipment have been responsible for the design, development & installation of a bespoke coffee bar, situated within the Heritage Centre.
Working closely with Peter Sutherland, property director for Gilder Group we produced concept sketches, 3D computer aided visuals & scale models, to develop & refine the design of a curved self contained coffee counter to service Gilder group customers.
The completely bespoke curved bar features drop in ambient & refrigerated display units, set into Formica Black Wolf solid surface. To contrast the counter top, white Corian has been used, mimicking the upright structural columns of the outside of the building. The counter front is clad in black embossed material, reminiscent of the high quality materials used in the interior trim of many Volkswagen & Audi group vehicles.
The back counter contains integrated refrigeration, a built in ice & chilled filtered water dispenser, as well as a custom made housing for a 50 inch plasma screen.
Flanking the counter are two small service rooms containing storage & glass washing facilities. These rooms have been finished with custom made doors, maintaining the overall feel of the bar.
To celebrate that in 1953 J.Gilder & Co. Ltd., trading as Gilders, becomes the first Volkswagen dealer in the UK and sells the very first VW Beetle on British shores, the Heritage Centre coffee bar has been named ‘53’.
